Kim – Rudyard Kipling

Beautiful little adventure book, the charming white boy goes all around India with the Tibetan lama. but this great travel of two is just, or can be look at as just, a frame for a beautiful description of India, one that can seen even today on the roads and cities of this big (many) country. Kipling beautifully tells the smells and tastes of India, the versatility, the differences, the unity and life…

Still so relevant after so many years, open up the taste for a trip to India or give some feel for those who long to go again

Out of the thousands who are known, or who want to be known as poets, maybe one or two are genuine and the rest are fakes, hanging around the sacred precincts trying to look like the real thing. Needless to say I am one of the fakes, and this is my story. (Leonard Cohen, The Book of Longing)
